Rumor has it

The reef was pretty sick when we first got there... Big bombs on the outside, but then as the swell dropped and the tide came in the peak moved to the inside and got real shifty.  Kinda turned into a paddle/duckdive fest.

The guy who lets me stay/live on his property was telling me that this place is going to be shut down in the next couple weeks.  The tribe's brand new transfer station means no more people throwing their trash into the current open air wasteland, and that means a gate on the road to keep them out.  It all depends on where they put the gate, and if they even do it... But don't be suprised if next time you head there, they have a nice shiny new gate installed accross the road.

Not only would a closure be bad for us surfers, it would also suck for all the local children who love to come play in the rusty debris.  Fun!

That’s good news about the transfer site. That place is nasty. Wonder if they will eventually try to restore the site? Prob not. I can live without that wave considering I surf it once or twice every few years.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, just like they closed the other spot. If they put a gate up people will walk. Just like they do at the other spot.

except that gate is like 50 yards from the trailhead... this one could be like 3 miles...
